Unable to Delete Search Service

Hello, I'm unable to delete the Search Service. The error message returned is empty.

Failed to delete search service openai-search-test. Error:

When I use PowerShell, it appears to have an SPL Link to a storage account in another subscription and believes that the storage account has a lock on it. It does not nor do I want that storage account deleted.

What should I try next?

Solution: The issue is resolved. That You was able to find the name of the shared private link and delete both resources. Az search shared-private-link-resource list --resource-group 'rg-main' --service-name 'OpenAI-test'.

Thanks Abiola, the force command did not work. I'm still getting:

(ConflictError) Unable to delete Search Service: 'openai-search-test'. LockedSPLResourceFound: Unable to verify management locks on Resource '/subscriptions/bc82c0f26b5c/resourceGroups/d1-eus2-rg-main/providers/Microsoft.Storage/storageAccounts/d1stdatalake'. If you still want to delete the search service, manually delete the SPL resource first and try again. RequestId: dfbc677f-d160-4e02-bfad-262e2f5c8266

Hello Anon4343,

In Azure Resource Explorer, I found the deleted storage blob reference in "sharedPrivateLinkResources" key.

Deleted using this command az search shared-private-link-resource delete --name <spl-name> --service-name <search-service-name> --resource-group <search-service-resource-group-name>

Then the resource could be deleted successfully.

Thanks Saideep, but there is no storage blob of that name in the referenced storage account.

Hello Anon4343,

It seems that you are trying to delete a search service named 'openai-search-test', but there is a locked shared private link resource associated with it. The error message indicates that the search service cannot be deleted until the shared private link resource is manually deleted.

You can try deleting the shared private link resource associated with the search service manually first and then try deleting the search service again.

Thank you. That provided me the name of the shared private link and I was able to delete the link and the service.

az search shared-private-link-resource list --resource-group 'rg-main' --service-name 'openai-test'
