Windows 11 pro update in late 2023 interferes with media server <-> TV connection

The app is Serviio. The TV with the problem is Sony, new model but six year old model had same problem with the update. Media Streaming (win11p) has been turned on and off, enabled to Serviio, enable to TV, both, or neither. Media has not been made available to the built-in media streaming function in Windows 11 (meaning the directories / drives are not mapped).

Will be playing a movie or TV show from a file on the hard drive of this Windows 11 pro computer, and the TV will say "cannot play video". From once a minute, to once a day. It is not file format, because it plays up to the connection failure. I've disabled power off on the network adapter.

Upped RAM to 64Gb (no positive change). All drives are new, no impending failures (SMART). Drives are set not to go to sleep for two hours. Computer is set to reboot at 3am every morning, and this is working.

Serviio logs just show the TV has disconnected at such and such percentage in. Live streaming apps on the TV have no discernable problems. This worked flawlessly on Windows 10, and Windows 11 up until the mystery update.

Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400 2.50 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.8 GB usable)
Product ID 00330-73745-00003-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Thank you for your attempt to help Rosy,

Step #1. These instructions do not work for Win11pro. Right click brings up a dialog with a Networking tab, and a Sharing tab.

    • Client for Microsoft Networks has no Properties.
    • File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks has no properties.
    • Realtek LightWeight Filter (NDIS6.40) has no properties.
    • QoS Packet Scheduler has no properties.
    • Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) has properties, but nothing that looks like "Public" vs. Private.
    • Microsoft Network Adapter Mutiplexor Protocol is not selected.
    • Microsoft LLDP Protocol Driver has no properties.
    • Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IIPv6) has properties, but nothing that looks like "Public" vs. "Private".
    • Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder has no properties.
    • Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver has no properties.

The Sharing tab has no setting similar to "Public" vs. "Private". [EDIT: Settings -> Network & Internet shows the two active adapters, both say "Private". I have tried the built-in (Reatek) or the add-on adapter and disabled the other, and it still "hiccuped", lost connection for some short period of time.]

Step #2. Serviio only maps exclusively to an adapter, or just depends on the OS. There are no settings available such as you describe.
