Windows XP on Windows 10 with Hyper-V: Mouse not captured in Remote Desktop session
We have an old physical Windows XP system (32-bit) we want to virtualize in Hyper-V.
With an older 32-bit Disk2vhd utility we have created a VHD of this machine.
In Hyper-V Manager on Windows 10 we have created a Gen-1 virtual machine with the VHD of the physical system.
When this virtual machine is started everything seems to be working fine except for mouse support.
When using a mouse we are getting a 'Mouse not captured in Remote Desktop session' pop-up.
How can we fix this?
Is there maybe a beter product and topics group to send this question?

Hope you are doing well.
To fix the mouse issue in your virtualized Windows XP system running on Hyper-V, you can try the following steps:
- Ensure that Integration Services are installed on your virtual machine. Integration Services include drivers and services that enhance the performance of the virtual machine's guest operating system.
- If Integration Services are already installed but the mouse issue persists, try updating the mouse driver within the Windows XP guest operating system. You can do this by accessing Device Manager, locating the mouse device, and updating the driver software.
- Ensure that the mouse settings within the Windows XP guest operating system are configured correctly. You can adjust settings such as mouse sensitivity, pointer speed, and button configuration to see if it resolves the issue.
- In Hyper-V Manager, under the settings of your virtual machine, navigate to the Integration Services section. Try toggling the various mouse integration modes (e.g., "Disabled," "Enabled," or "Enabled with Windows mouse pointer integration") to see if a different mode resolves the issue.
- If you are accessing the virtual machine via Remote Desktop, ensure that the Remote Desktop settings are configured properly. You can check settings related to mouse capture and remote input.
