BUG: Windows Sandbox fails to initialize after fresh 24H2 Install - The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002)

Hi there!

Long time Windows user, first time Window Professional License buyer. I PRIMARILY bought Windows Professional BECAUSE of the Windows Sandbox feature, and have been using it since 22H2 without any issues. But after doing a fresh install of 24H2, using the latest Windows 11 ISO, it DOES NOT LAUNCH. Hyper-V still works fine.

I have tried:

  1. sfc /scannow
  2. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  3. Reinstalling Windows multiple times.
  4. Running different .wsb configurations with vGPU and HostFolder options
  5. Enabling/Disabling Windows Sandbox under (Win+R and Optional Features)
  6. Disabling all non-Windows services under msconfig.
  7. Putting "bcdedit.exe /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto" in powershell

If there is no plans to support this feature, please let us know so, and have it removed from the "Optional Features" tab.

Thank you!

EDIT: While I'm waiting for a workaround or fix for this issue, it looks like VMWare Workstation Pro 17 (Windows)/Fusion Pro (MacOS) has recently released FOR FREE and DOES SUPPORT ACCELERATED GRAPHICS as well, for those looking for a good VM for gaming or running other graphics-intensive software.

    Same issue with me,

It was solved as easy as doing step 5 after restarting twice..
