Using Bitlocker To Encrypt a VHD

I have created a VHD on a portion of my current C Drive by way of the Disk Management. I have assigned it Drive X.

From the Bitlocker panel, I have encrypted it as a non removable drive per the suggestions when encrypting.

If I turn off Bitlocker to relock the drive, reboot, the subject X drive is no longer listed in the Fixed Data Drives list. Consequently, I can not remount the X drive via Bitlocker.

How do I get it to be displayed in the list of fixed drives so I can remount it?

I should also add, that I see the file name where I saved it on my C drive, but if I double click it, it does not go to the Bitlocker panel to unlock, nor does it give me a choice to Mount the drive.

I'm befuddled.

Anthony
