Server 2016 Convert partition from MBR to GPT

I have a physical server running Server 2016, and its OS partition is MBR. The disaster recovery system that we are using to protect the server requires GPT for spinning up a replicated instance quickly. I want to convert the partition from MBR to GPT without reformatting the disk.

I created a boot disk for Server 2019, booted the server to the 2019 boot disk, and ran mbr2gpt.exe /convert, but the validation checks failed with the message "Disk layout validation failed for disk," so it could not convert the partition.

How can I convert this partition to GPT?

According to the documentation for mbr2gpt.exe, errors are written to setupact.log in %WinDir%. The contents of setupact.log are below:

WudfCoInstaller: ReadWdfSection: Checking WdfSection [Basic_Install.Wdf]

WudfCoInstaller: Configuring UMDF Service WpdFs.

WudfCoInstaller: ImpersonationLevel set to 2

WudfCoInstaller: Using "Win7" service configuration

WudfCoInstaller: Service WudfSvc is already running.

WudfCoInstaller: Final status: error(0) The operation completed successfully.

WudfCoInstaller: Created marker file C:\Windows\system32\drivers\Msft_User_WpdFs_01_11_00.Wdf.
