Dear Azure Support Team,

I am reaching out to request assistance with an issue I am encountering in Azure Synapse Analytics. When attempting to create a new external table using a CSV file, the import wizard is failing to detect the schema and is not allowing me to manually specify file format settings or adjust the schema.

The error message I receive is "Failed to detect schema" and it occurs immediately after specifying the CSV file path, preventing any further action on my part. Here are some specifics:

  1. The CSV file path is correct.
  2. The issue arises before I have the chance to choose a delimiter or any other format settings.
  3. I have confirmed that the encoding of the CSV file is UTF-8.
  4. Unfortunately, I cannot provide the CSV or a screenshot through this message, but I would be happy to supply them upon your request.

I have tried the operation multiple times to no avail and am concerned about the limited number of sessions I have available as part of my current plan with Udacity. Could you please guide me on how to proceed with creating an external table from my CSV file, or advise on an alternative method to accomplish this?

Thank you for your prompt assistance with this matter.

Best regards

Aninda
