This started working again. Thanks to whoever at MS fixed it.
Microsoft Download Center - All Download Links Broken
All KB articles that link to the Microsoft Download Center appear to be broken.
Ex:
- KB5042207 - Description of the security update for SQL Server 2016 SP3 GDR: September 10, 2024
- How to obtain and install the update -> Method 3 Microsoft Download Center -> Download the package now
- This links to https://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?familyid=bcaa232a-0e0c-4ae9-b4d8-7a27d8453595 However, instead of being directed to the page to download the update file, the site instead redirects to the generic https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download page.
This seems to be happening for all of the SQL Server KBs that I've tried from this page: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/sql/releases/download-and-install-latest-updates#sql-server-2016

2024-10-04T07:48:54+00:00 Hello Dave_2123,
thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community Forums.
From the description, I understand that your issue is related to SQL Server.
Since there are no engineers dedicated to SQL Server in this forum. In order to be able to deal with your questions quickly and efficiently, I recommend that you repost your questions in the Q&A forum, where there will be a dedicated engineer to provide you with a professional and efficient answer.
Here is a link to the Q&A forum: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/
Have a nice day.
Sincere greetings

2024-10-04T15:16:36+00:00 This shouldn't require SQL Server engineers, as this is a problem with the Microsoft Download Center page itself. I only provided examples of downloads that I attempted (which happened to be for SQL Server update downloads)
All download links with "?familyid=" in the URL are failing: http://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?familyid=
conversely, all download links with "?id=" in the URL work as expected: https://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=
So, the underlying issue is the redirects from the "?familyid=" url to the "?id=" url is failing.

sorry for my mistaken. I've tried the links you provided, this issue does still persist. Since the issue related Microsoft download center is out of my scope, it is recommended contact Microsoft support team for help. Here is the link: Global Customer Service phone numbers - Microsoft Support.
