About a month ago my streaming of files from pc to tv abruptly began stopping at the two minute mark.

This is consistent. Is a Windows 10 update causing the stream to be aborted? I've not had this problem before. Wifi signal was always adequate from my modem. TV is Samsung Q60, which is set up to recognize the pc and its main folders (in this case, the C drive "Video" folder). Message is "Please check network". I don't seem to have a problem streaming Prime or using internet on the tv so it seems to be related to file streaming rather than simple wifi connection.

    Hi Grisbo,

Is this problem happening after you update Windows? If so, you can try uninstalling the update and see if that resolves the issue. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history > Uninstall updates. Find the update in question and click Uninstall.

I hope the above information can help you.

    Best regards

Thanks. There have probably been five updates since this started. Should I guess at the earliest one and uninstall it? Do you have any idea of how it could be interfering with the streaming?

I have done some more observation of the problem and timed the outages. It happens at exactly two minutes five seconds every time. So it seems a software command is terminating the stream or only one packet/data block is started and when it is used up the stream ends instead of reloading. Does that make sense? I'm still waiting for a comment on the issue of which update(s) to remove, if any.

    Hi Grisbo,

Thank you for your reply. I suggest you delete the update patch before the problem occurs and then test whether the problem can be solved, because the patch may cause software compatibility issues. In addition, I suggest you temporarily turn off the firewall to check whether the problem is affected by the firewall.

    Best regards

Hi Grisbo. I have exactly the same problem! I've looked around online and you're the first other person I've seen experiencing the same issue.

I've always streamed files from my PC to my TV fine - but sometime around July I first noticed a problem. Any file will now stop playing at around the 2:30 minute mark.

I also wondered if it was a windows update that had caused the issue - but by the time I noticed the problem there were so many recent updates I didn't know how far back to go, how many updates to undo.

I decided to switch from Windows 10 to Windows 11, hoping that this reinstall of a new operating system would solve the problem. But it hasn't!

I'm currently at a complete loss - I don't know what to do - I've tried disabling the firewall - I've even uninstalled/reinstalled my security software. Nothing I try has made any difference.

If you do find any solution to this issue, I'd love to hear it!
