Since SCCM 2010 upgrade: Software Center can not be loaded on some clients

Have upgraded SCCM to 2010 about 4 weeks ago (after final 2010 release), and put the pre-production client into production 10 days ago. The affected client versions are all 5.00.9040.1015.

Over time, an increasing number of clients can not load the software center. all other operations are ok, afaik.

  • different Windows 10 versions (1909, 20H2) are affected
  • the SCCM clients are not in provisioning mode
  • ccmrepair.exe and a following restart doesn't solve the problem
  • softwarecentersystemtasks.log has no errors
  • SCCClient_xxx.log has WMI errors
  • Reset permissions on %temp% directory doesn't help (ICACLS %Temp% /T /Q /C /RESET)
  • the only thing I hesitate and haven't tried yet is to reset the WMI repository

Any advice? or is a HF rollup Hotfix for 2010 around the corner?
Thank you in advance for any help

Franz

    @Franz Schenk
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.
I also have upgraded to SCCM 2010 and the client version are upgraded to 5.00.9040.1015, the software center of all clients works well.
You may try to reset the WMI repository and run CCMRepair.exe with following steps to see if it helps:

    1. net stop winmgmt
    2. winmgmt /resetrepository
    3. Reboot
    4. CCMRepair.exe

Have you tried repairing .NET on the device?

Have you tried repairing (not deleting) the WMI repository?

    Thank you for your help!

the only solution that solved the problem on two affected clients was the "radical method" with "winmgmt /resetrepository".

Same issue for me since upgrade to CB 2010.
some clients become unstable and "software center" is not available. (not just after client update but some days after)...

    No update for this?

    Thanks

Same here. Nothing helps. We tried:
    Repair Client
    Repair .Net
    Repair WMI

Only uninstalling the Client with ccmclean.exe /q und reinstalling the client brings the Client back.
    Very strange.
