I am trying to deploy gpt-4o model in Azure AI Foundry.

After I created a new project and tried to deploy,

I get the following error.

Failed to get the connection NotFoundError: Connection Default_AzureOpenAI can't be found in this workspace.

Fill in the required details, including your Subscription ID and Azure OpenAI Account Name.

Save the connection and ensure it is associated with a deployment.

Make sure that the connection is properly established before trying to deploy the model again.

Using my personal account, I followed your instructions to add new connection but I still encountered the same error.

However, using my school account which is an enterprise account, there is no problem for DeepSeek even without adding a new connection.

I am living in Singapore so I am

not sure whether it has something to do with my region.

I am receiving the same error across different models. I’ve tried the automatic process in AI Foundry by creating a new project and allowing all resources to be created automatically. I also manually created all the necessary resources according to this guide and assigned the new project to them.

In both cases, the Management Center shows successful connections to my Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI Service, and Azure Blob Storage. I even set up a new connection based on a suggested fix. During the setup process, it indicates the connection as “connected.”

However, I still receive the following error:

Ensure the Azure OpenAI resource is created under the same subscription as your Azure AI Foundry project.

Go to Management Center > Connections in Azure AI Foundry and confirm that the connection is correctly set up.

Your personal account may lack necessary permissions. Go to your Azure OpenAI resource > Access control (IAM) and assign your account a role like Contributor or Owner

Confirm that the Azure OpenAI model is available in Singapore. Check Azure Products by Region for details

Ensure you are in the correct workspace. Check that the workspace ID matches where you created the connection.

Got the following workaround:

In portal.azure.com: New Azure Open AI

Go from the new created ressource in "Overview" to "Explore Azure AI Founry portal"

In the open window in the left menue, go to "shared resources"->"Deployments"

"+ Deploy model" -> "Deploy Base model"

From here you can choose any model, which satisfy your needs.

If I try to deploy a model in any other way, I get the error message.

I just tried again and there is no problem now.

The following are the steps.

I clicked on DeepSeek-V3 in the following page.

Then click Deploy.

Click Create a new project

Click Create.

The project is created successfully. The above is exactly what I did on Mar 19 when I encountered the error. It looks like some thing has been fixed.
