Hello @Samuel Brown,
Even though you are an Azure Global Administrator, that does not automatically make you a Databricks Account Admin. The first person to log in and set up Databricks in your organization automatically became the Databricks Account Admin, and only they (or another existing Account Admin) can grant you access.
As an Azure Global Administrator, you have the ability to manage Azure subscriptions, create and manage Databricks workspaces, and assign Azure RBAC roles in the Azure Portal. However, you cannot manage Databricks Account settings, Unity Catalog, or identity federation within Databricks.
A Databricks Account Admin, on the other hand, has full control over Databricks Account settings. They can assign Account Admin and Workspace Admin roles within Databricks, set up Unity Catalog Metastore to manage governance across workspaces, and configure SSO & Identity Federation for Databricks.
Here are the things that you can check it out:
- Check if Someone Else is Already the Account Admin
- Ask other Global Admins or IT if they set up Databricks first.
- If they did, they need to add you as an Account Admin in the Databricks Account Console.
- To check who is the Account admin, the first account admin is the one who has the Global administrator role, so check who all have that role in Azure. Go to Active directory -> Roles and administrators -> global administrator -> check the persons with that role.

Hope this helps.
