EntraID Custom Domain verification problem

Hi,

I m trying to register an EntraID custom domain name: software-playground.com for a few days

Domain name is purchased from godaddy.com

I have added both:

the TXT DNS record "MS=ms69425923"
and MX record "32767:ms33447886.msv1.invalid"

and verified propagation with https://www.whatsmydns.net/#MX/software-playground.com

However verification of the custom domain fails with following error:

"Unable to verify domain name. Ensure you have added the record above at the registrar for 'software-playground.com', and try again in a little while. Click here for more information."

without further feedback

Can you please help me on this or tell me how I can get any type of support. I ve already spent a week

It looks like you did not set a CNAME record, which Microsoft requires as well for Godaddy. See: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/dns/create-dns-records-at-godaddy?view=o365-worldwide. Could you try setting this as well and tell me if the problem persists?

Make sure that you have added the TXT record correctly. Double-check the record to ensure that it matches the expected value and that there are no typos or errors.

Verify that the DNS changes have propagated. It can take some time for DNS changes to propagate across the internet. You can use a tool like nslookup or dig to check the DNS records for your domain and verify that the TXT record is present.

Verify that the domain name you are trying to verify is correct. Make sure that you are trying to verify the correct domain name and that it is spelled correctly.

seems that you are correct.
The EntraID for sowftware-playground.com currently is c4ce2fa4-37f8-4f08-8559-b93da1e84b1c

It seems that I dont have any subscriptions in it

and looks like it was created when I registered the name from godaddy.com (and email service @software-playground.com along)

I see that I am the Global Administrator at this domain which is a different one than the one I m trying to apply the Custom Name.

Can I just delete the EntraID and get on with this ?

Hello Theodors Stroh as Admin,

You can delete the domain from the other tenant which you have mentioned.

But, be make sure to check the pre-requisites as mentioned in the below document before deleting the domain.

Hello Theodors Stroh as Admin,

As per the description, we understand that you are not able to verify the domain in Entra ID tenant.

We noticed that your domain is already registered in one of the Entra ID tenants.

You can find the Tenant ID on which your domain is already registered by verifying your domain at the below url

https://whatismytenantid.com

Once you get the tenant ID, please let us know if you have access to the tenant with Global Admin credentials.
