Purchasing a Japanese Phone Number for Enterprise Use with Azure Communication Services

Dear Azure Communication Services Support Team,

[Details of the Inquiry]

We are currently considering implementing a voice bot system to enhance the efficiency of our help desk operations. As part of this, we are evaluating the use of Azure Communication Services and are looking to obtain a new Japanese phone number.

Could you please let us know what documents are required for a corporate entity to purchase a Japanese phone number?

(For example, is submission of a driver’s license, company registration certificate, or similar documents necessary?)

While our internal process includes requesting account credentials, the actual creation of the Azure account has been handled by another team.

Our Azure subscription is already in place and ready.

After consulting with the Microsoft sales department and reviewing publicly available documentation (such as the Microsoft Learn article: “Quickstart - Get and manage phone numbers with Azure Communication Services”), we understand that acquiring a Japanese phone number requires submitting a "manual order."

However, it seems that the “Request Form for Japan” may currently be unavailable or not visible due to a configuration or platform limitation.

 

We would appreciate your assistance and a response regarding this matter.

New TN Acquisition – Acquire new phone numbers from Microsoft. Before creating a ticket, check phone availability in different countries

• Number Type - Select the type for your numbers. See Types of phone numbers.
• Tried to get phone numbers from the Teams Admin Center Portal - Have you tried acquiring these phone numbers from the Microsoft Teams Admin Center?
• Quantity of phone numbers required - The count of phone numbers that you want to acquire.
• State/Province - The state/province within your country/region for which you want phone numbers.
• City - The city within the state/province for which you want phone numbers.
• Office address - This is specific to certain countries only. This is the site address of your office.
• Directory listing - This is specific to certain countries only. Do you want to publish your company information with the phone numbers?

Regarding the step where it says to “fill in the necessary details and submit your request,” could you please clarify what specific information is required?

For example, is it necessary to provide a copy of a personal identification document such as a driver's license for an individual, or a certificate of incorporation for a company? I would appreciate it if you could share a detailed list or examples of the required documents or information.
