Hi,We deployed ADRMS in the local environment. The exchange version is exchange2016. When outlook encrypted emails through ADRMS, it prompted: "I haven't configured IRM to log in to office users." The encryption of word and excel is normal. Does Exchange need to configure IRM? thank you

    Hi @haowen yan

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

For on-prem Exchange server and using IRM from Outlook, we don't have to modify any configuration from Exchange server manually.

We only have to enable IRM from Exchange server side if we need to support for OWA and Exchange ActiveSync.

Based on the error information you provided, here are some suggestions for you:

    1. Does this issue only occur with specific user account or specific Outlook client computer?

Please test if the issue persists with the same mailbox account from different client computers.

    1. Do you add several accounts to current Outlook client? Or have any account issues for logging Office?

You can go to Outlook > File > Office Account to check and confirm no Account errors

    1. Check and make sure that you are using the latest version of Outlook.

Here is an article about similar issue, please also test if adding registry subkey could help to resolve:
