Auto hide taskbar not working properly on main screen

When having a window maximized on my main screen the taskbar isn't popping up.

Setting "make this my main display" to my other monitor 2 fixes it for monitor 1 and vice versa.

Based on the information you have provided, it looks like you have problem with auto-hide task bar feature.

I'm still not sure whether if you want to hide or unhide the taskbar. Please let me know so I can assist you better.

Additionally, you can double check the taskbar behavior by right-clicking at task bar and choose Taskbar settings.

Hi, I want to use the auto hide feature but the taskbar wont pop up when putting the cursor at the bottom like it usually does. This only happens on the main monitor and when having the window maximized on it.

You can try one of these solutions:

Restart Windows Explorer: Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open Task Manager, select Windows Explorer, and select Restart task.

Maximize the windows manually: Sometimes, the auto-maximize feature works improperly, they may prevent the taskbar from appearing. You can drag the edge to maximize the windows.

Use Windows button to force the taskbar to pop up.

This does nothing, still have the same issue. I use mainly chrome on my main screen. Sometimes it fixes itself and will start working but once I shut the laptop down it does it all over again. When I look in Task Manager there is no Windows Explorer and even if I were to click on the program there is no reset or restart. It would be great to have a solution for this as I prefer my laptop to not constantly show the taskbar, and not being able to unhide on one screen while the other two are fine is straight up annoying.

Thanks for your response.

You can search for Windows Explorer and right click, select Restart.

If your computer has Nvidia graphics card Nvidia Overlay, try disabling it in Settings > In-game Overlay.

Running an SFC scan checks for and repairs these files:

Open cmd as Administator.

Type the command sfc /scannow and enter.

The scan can take a while, but it’s a thorough way to detect and repair issues.

Once complete, restart your PC to see if the taskbar behaves normally.

@Jayden-P it seems more and more people are having this issue, is there a way you can look into it further? Seems like it only happened after the latest update for me.

I think my last reboot fixed the problem I had for a few days. I've rebooted, sfc check etc. before to no avail. I don't know what has changed but it has been working for the last 2.5 hrs. Edit: 2.5 days and the taskbar is still working.
