Hello,
Good day
Can anyone help me with this please?

When do we have the connected agents feature available in Microsoft Copilot studio to design, develop and deploy multi-agent orchestration-based solution? Recent Microsoft build announcement says it's going to be available in public preview soon.

I see similar connected agents feature on Azure AI foundry Agent service where we can create AI Agents and integrate them via this feature to create an agentic workflow but there is no direct integration with Copilot studio to make it available to deploy on MS Teams or M365 Copilot

    Hello,

The "connected agents" or multi-agent orchestration feature in Microsoft Copilot Studio enables organizations to design, develop, and deploy solutions where multiple AI agents collaborate to complete complex, cross-functional business tasks. This is a significant evolution from single-agent architectures, allowing for more scalable, intelligent workflows.

    Availability Timeline

    • The connected agents (multi-agent orchestration) feature was announced at Microsoft Build 2025.
    • It is currently in private preview, with a public preview scheduled to begin soon—specifically, Microsoft has indicated a public preview will be available in June 2025

    Key Capabilities

Multi-Agent Collaboration: Agents built in Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 agent builder, Azure AI Agents Service, and Microsoft Fabric can now interact, delegate tasks, and share data to achieve shared business goals356.

Orchestration Across Systems: Example scenarios include an agent pulling sales data from a CRM, passing it to another agent to draft a proposal in Word, and triggering a third agent to schedule meetings in Outlook—all automatically5.

Integration with Azure AI Foundry: You can bring your own models (including custom or industry-specific models) from Azure AI Foundry into Copilot Studio, enabling more tailored and powerful agent responses35.

Expanded Publishing Channels: Agents built in Copilot Studio can be deployed to Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot, SharePoint, and soon WhatsApp, making them widely accessible within your organization5.

Security and Management: Agents are now managed with Microsoft Entra Agent ID, giving security admins better visibility and control. Microsoft Purview Information Protection will also extend to these agents for data security3.

Comparison to Azure AI Foundry Agent Service

Azure AI Foundry also supports creating and connecting multiple agents for agentic workflows.

The key difference is that, until now, there was no direct integration to deploy these agent workflows from Azure AI Foundry into Copilot Studio for use in Microsoft Teams or Microsoft 365 Copilot.

The new Copilot Studio multi-agent orchestration aims to bridge this gap, allowing for seamless deployment and management of connected agents across Microsoft 365 environments356.

    How to Get Started

    • The public preview is expected in June 2025. Keep an eye on Microsoft Copilot Studio documentation and the Microsoft 365 admin center for updates35.
    • Once available, you’ll be able to design, test, and deploy multi-agent solutions directly from Copilot Studio, leveraging both low-code and pro-code tools6.
    • For those interested in early access or more advanced integration (e.g., using the Microsoft 365 Agents SDK), developer resources and sessions from Microsoft Build 2025 are available.

    Best Regards,

    Jerald Felix
