I created azure databricks workspace from my personal account (NOT an organization account) . i am global Admin at the tenant level.

  1. Workspace is not showing me as a Workspace admin
  2. My Name is incorrect in the workspace at the user icon at the top right corner but email address is correct.
  3. i am unable to connect https://accounts.azuredatabricks.net/login using my azure entra id credentials. for the below Error: Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '2ff814a6-3304-4ab8-85cb-cd0e6f879c1d' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.

Any help + suggestion is appreciate !!

    Hi @srinivasu machineni
Thanks again for the detailed updates throughout the thread. Based on your latest confirmation, glad to hear the issue has been resolved.

For others facing a similar challenge, here’s a summary of the working steps that helped resolve the issue:

Resolution Steps (Shared by community contributor):

If you're using a personal Azure Pay-As-You-Go account and not being recognized as a Workspace Admin, follow these steps:

    1. Check Azure Entra ID Users
      • Go to your Azure PortalAzure Entra IDUsers.
      • Check if your account appears with a #EXT# suffix (e.g., yourname_domain.com#EXT#@domain.onmicrosoft.com).
    2. Login with #EXT# User
      • Use Incognito mode or a fresh browser session.
      • Login with the #EXT# version of your email.
      • You may need to reset the password for that user.
    3. Access Databricks Account Console

Once this login is successful, you should be recognized correctly within the Databricks Account and have appropriate access to manage workspaces and Unity Catalog setup.
