Good day! Welcome to Q&A forum. I understand you're facing a rather frustrating issue with your Authenticator app. It seems you accidentally factory reset your phone. Now, you're trying to remove MFA from your old device to access your account on your new phone.
Even though I can't directly help you sign out right now, I can guide you through the steps so you can recover your account.
For this reason, If your account is a work or school account, do you know any other Global Administrators in your organization?
- If yes: Please ask them to follow the instructions in this article to reset your 2-factor authentication (2FA), which will allow you to re-register: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn.
- If no: If you are the sole Global Administrator and you are completely locked out of your tenant, you may need to contact us via our phone support service: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support.
If your account is a personal account, please try following option that can help you:
- Please fill the recovery form Help with the Microsoft account recovery form - Microsoft Support
Hopefully, you'll be able to sign out of your account soon. Thank you for your patience as we've been working through this. If you have any other questions, just ask. I'm always here and ready to help you with anything.
