Good evening,

I need to know if there is a way within Microsoft Teams in the normal "Meeting" function to include both the first name and last name of the participant.

Thank you.

    Hi @Selena Cavallo

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I completely understand how important it is to ensure participants' full names are correctly displayed in Microsoft Teams meetings, particularly in formal or business contexts. Whether a participant’s full name appears in Microsoft Teams depends on the type of account used, below is a summary of each scenario:

    • When participants join using Microsoft 365 Business or School accounts, their display name is automatically pulled from Azure Active Directory. If the first and last names are properly configured in their profile, both will appear in Teams meetings. If only part of the name is showing, the display name in the directory needs updated only by your IT administrator.
    • For participants joining via personal Microsoft accounts (e.g., @outlook.com, @hotmail.com), the display name is based on their Microsoft account profile. While first and last names can be entered, the customization options are more limited compared to organizational accounts. To ensure both names are reflected, users can update their information by visiting the Microsoft Account Profile page.
    • If a participant joins as a guest without signing into any Microsoft account, they will be prompted to enter a name before joining the meeting. In this case, they have complete control over what is shown, and can choose to enter both their first and last names. This name will be visible to all participants during the meeting.

If I’ve misunderstood your concern or if your experience differs, feel free to clarify or share a screenshot to help me better assist you. I truly appreciate your patience and hope you’ll be able to resolve this quickly.
