Not Receiving Verification Code via email for Sign-in & Sync (Windows 11) Laptop

Hi,

I have a Microsoft account (@hotmail.com) through which i am using Onedrive & Microsoft Teams which are synced with my laptop for a real time files/folders sync.

Recently i enabled password & pin to login to this very same Laptop, earlier it didn’t had any password/pin to login , what I noticed is that after enabling this sign-in password to access laptop ,the MS teams & Onedrive got auto logged out and when i am trying to login , it further attempts to send verification code to my @hotmail.com email account but that’s not happening despite multiple attempts.

Its triggering an email but i am not receiving any email /code, i have checked all blocked emails, junk folder, did basic troubleshooting after reading similar Q&As on verification issues & blogs but could not resolve this.

    Hi @Shakir,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating and inconvenient it must be to lose access to your OneDrive and Microsoft Teams after setting up Windows Hello.  I'm happy to you resolve this issue together. To better assist you, could you please provide a few additional details?

    1. From the screenshot you've shared, it's unclear whether Windows Hello has been successfully configured on your device. Could you confirm if you are using Windows Hello to sign in to your laptop, or if you're using a different method to log in?

You can follow this guide to set up Windows Hello: Configure Windows Hello - Microsoft Support

    1. Can you confirm if the email address receiving the verification code is the same as the one associated with your OneDrive or Microsoft Teams account? You can easily check this by visiting https://account.live.com/proofs/manage and verifying that the email address matches. Below is an example of "Email a code" section:

    undefined

    1. Could you also confirm if you have added @accountprotection.microsoft.com to your trusted sender list? This ensures that the verification emails aren’t being filtered. You can follow this guide to add trusted senders: Add recipients to the Safe Senders List in Outlook - Microsoft Support
    2. Have you tried accessing Onedrive and Microsoft Teams through their web versions?  If not, please try logging in using Incognito/Private Mode to see if the issue persists.

If I've misunderstood any part of your issue, or if you have any updates to share, please don’t hesitate to reply. Your feedback is crucial in helping me find the best solution for you.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through this together!
