Hi @Peter Kim,
Thank you for contacting Q&A Forum. I would like to provide my findings and proposed solution:
A “Delete operation failed” when revoking MFA sessions generally means one of two things:
You’re trying to revoke your own MFA session. • The portal’s Require re-register MFA and session-revocation features only work when run by an admin on another user—not for your own account.
You lack the proper admin role to revoke someone else’s sessions. • To remove another user’s MFA methods or force a re-registration, you must be an Authentication Administrator or Global Administrator in Azure AD.
Could you please check if there are any other Global Administrators in your organization who might be able to assist with this? Alternatively, you can try creating another Global Administrator account (If you still have access in Admin Center) and access the Admin Center using a different browser or in incognito mode via this account.
You can check this post to get more information: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/2282454/cannot-re-register-mfa
Kindly let me know if this work for you and please let me know if you have any further questions.
If I have answered your question, please accept this answer as a token of appreciation and don't forget to give a thumbs up for "Was it helpful"!
Best regards,
Eric
