Why isn't my OneDrive for Business reporting its status to the App Sync Health Report

What could be preventing the OneDrive for Business on my local machine from reporting its status to the OneDrive Sync App Health Report? Viewing the OneDrive Activity Center, I note that it reports "Your files are synced" and reports this every time I check. However, when I view my OneDrive in the OneDrive Sync App Health Report, it shows that it was last synced nearly two weeks ago and that its last status was reported over one week ago. To try to force it to update, I have:

  • Performed a manual sync using "OneDrive.exe /sync"
  • Performed a manual reset using "OneDrive.exe /reset"
  • Performed a complete re-installation

Nothing works. This situation frequently occurs for all my users across the organization: their last sync and last status reporting, according to the report, are significantly out-of-date; but then when we actually check the OneDrives on their local machines, they invariably report "Your files are synced". Performing the steps listed above on their machines does not alleviate the problem. These chronic contradictory experiences make the OneDrive Sync App Health Report an ineffective tool for us for monitoring user OneDrive status across the organization, and I have all but abandoned it. What could be causing this experience?

    Hi @TSOAdmin

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand the frustrating situation you're in, where the central OneDrive Health Report is out of sync with the actual status on your users' machines.

Based on my research, I have found the specific technical setting that controls whether the OneDrive client reports its status to the admin dashboard. The feature is controlled by a registry value called EnableSyncAdminReports. You should confirm that the EnableSyncAdminReport setting is applied to device SyncAdminReport setting is applied to device.User's image

Please refer to the document > OneDrive sync reports in the Apps Admin Center - SharePoint in Microsoft 365 | Microsoft Learn

Please give those troubleshooting steps a try. If the issue persists, please feel free to provide us with any additional details. Thank you for your understanding.
