How to Copy a Workbook in Excel Online Version &/or "Save As" missing + file location not allowed

Unable to "Save a Copy". The "Save As" only allows to "Rename" and DOES NOT allow to "Copy" any longer, as before. When you "Rename" it DOES NOT make a Copy, it just renames the same file.

Also the ability to select the file location once you've "renamed" does not allow you to select a new location.

See screenshots of both issues.

Also, the "Download" toggle does not work; it does not execute to download, as it's not a click-able command.

I use Dropbox Cloud to Open in Excel Web and now realize the "File" functionality is lacking and different as opposed to using OneDrive (Microsoft) to Open in Excel Web (see screenshots). Is this the cause of the inability to Copy a Worksheet or Download? Can you fix functionality to allow both when using other cloud services? It seems we're being forced to only use Microsoft One Drive.

I also noticed when in Microsoft One Drive Excel Web version, you are only able to save file location in Microsoft One Drive and nowhere else. Is that accurate? Excel Online SAVE A Copy & file location Issue

    Dear @denk,

Thank you for reaching out Q&A Forum!

We understand that you're having trouble with Excel Online, when you are unable to use the "Save a Copy" feature and change the save file location.

Based on our research, Microsoft 365 for the web is designed to let you view and edit documents stored in OneDrive directly from your browser. Microsoft 365 for the web gives you the full functionality of editing without having to start up an Office program. So that, you cannot change the saving location on Excel Online because it connects direct to OneDrive.

As we reviewed in our Excel Online, there is no 'Save a Copy' option available in this version.

The 'Save a Copy' option is available in the Microsoft 365 Excel app. With this option, you can choose the location where you want to save the file in File Explorer.

Since Dropbox is a third-party service, there may be occasional compatibility issues or conflicts when used alongside Microsoft tools. For a smoother and more reliable experience, we recommend considering OneDrive. As a Microsoft product, OneDrive offers stronger compatibility with the Microsoft ecosystem.
