Janette_Z,
I see you have been answering alot of other problems lately. Have you given up on helping? Are we already out of ideas? If so, say as much so I can stop monitoring this thread and try elsewhere

Just today, my Surface Pro 7 i5 wont charge when connected to the stock charger but does charge with a USB-C charger. The battery indicator wont change to show its on battery and then I noticed this in Device Manager under Surface TCon:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE
I have disabled the device, then re-enabled. I have attempted to reinstall drivers. I have ran the Surface Diag tool, Nothing has changed. I have restarted it, have shut it down and restarted. Not sure what to do next.

To add to the issues Im having with this, now it wants to switch between desktop and tablet mode on its own, at random. I did a reset on windows, hoping that would fix the issue but it didnt.
And now my USB-C port is getting finicky as well. Most days I can connect my Anker 7-in-1 hub and everything works fine, today it wont recognize the hub; no video to external monitor and its not recognizing anything plugged into the USB ports on the hub.
I tried it with or without power to the hub. If I connect the the HDMI cable to the hub with no power, the monitor flickers on but says no signal. I tried straight connecting from the USB-C to the monitor and no video either. It is getting power through USB-C, I recharged my Surface from about 75% to full earlier today and it detects that its on AC power when plugged into the hub with power.
Hello, PhilipMildren!
Thanks for responding and we're truly sorry if the same thing happens.
Let's run the system file checker to detect corrupted files and repair it. Please get to this page to be guided on Using System File Checker in Windows 10. This helps detect corrupted drivers and repair it. This also inspects all of the important Windows files on your computer, including Windows DLL files. If System File Checker finds a problem with any of these protected files, it will replace it.
Let us know how it goes.
