Hi,
I'm having this overlapping issue with excel formula suggest on top and my named ranges recommendation in the background. I really cant see what is in the background. I'm Microsoft® Excel for Mac Version 16.97 (25051114). Mac is using Sequoia 15.5. Did someone face similar issue or is this a known issue?
I'm not able to see an option for Mac within child issue.
This is standard behaviour in both Excel for the Mac and PC. When the 'floating' formula suggestions box gets in the way, hover the mouse pointer over it. When the hand-symbol (Mac) or 4-arrowed crosshair (PC) appears, click it and drag the box out of the way.
Hey Riny, thanks a ton for this. I was currently working with the solution Tammy-Ng gave by disabling AutoComplete. This was a subtle yet effective solution.
Glad I could help. Disabling the AutoComplete just complicates your life. Unless you know the order of arguments for all Excel functions from memory, of course.

Thanks for reply. Testing this differently might not be possible currently, as this is the only official device I run it on. I currently don't seem to find any walk-around apart for switching the formula recommendation off, which would be very inconvenient.

I’ve also done some research and tested this issue in my own environment, and I’d like to suggest a workaround that might help temporarily disabling formula suggestions to avoid the overlapping interface.
-Go to Excel > Preferences > AutoComplete.
-Disable the following options:
Show function ScreenTips
AutoComplete for functions
Note: In some versions of Excel for Mac, the “AutoComplete” section may not appear as a separate category. In that case:
-Go to Excel > Preferences > Edit
-Uncheck:
Enable AutoComplete for cell values
Show function ScreenTips
