Press Windows+R and type cmd. Press Ctrl+Shift+Enter and click on yes.
Type powercfg /hibernate on and press enter.
Now you can enable it from the control panel.

unable to set hibernate. no such option is available after upgrading to win 11 sometimes surface laptop 3 goes to sleep and I can resume back to work immediately by opening the lip sometimes it shuts off.

tried other methods I could google such as from powershell etc as well.
will regret upgrading to win 11 and too troublesome to revert
Go to Control Panel, Power Options.
Click Choose what the Power buttons do,
the click Change Settings that are currently
unavailable.
Hibernate should now show, tic the box and
then Save Changes at the bottom.
I do it first using cmd. Then restart. Then do it in Control Panel, Power Options. Then it works.
