Prior to windows 11 , I was exporting a document in MHTML format and was using Internet explorer to view the MHTML File. IE used to render the MHTML file perfectly and show the report page with images as expected. But while migrating to Win 11 , where IE is obsolete , i want to open this MHTML file in normal browsers like MSEDGE and Chrome without the use of IE mode . So is there any way available using which latest browsers can be used to render this MHTML file without IE Mode.

Microsoft Edge | Other | Windows 11

... it is showing only some text data in distorted format ...

Thank you. That is the beginning of the mark-up of the document. As far as I can tell, it's missing some information that would help to display it properly in Edge. Please try reloading it in IE mode, since this is the most profitable way forward for you. Ensure that IE Mode is allowed in Edge at (Settings and more) > Settings > Default browser. This is Edge's info about the function:

Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode<br><br>This setting allows sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode if a site needs Internet Explorer for compatibility.<br><br>Default<br><br>We'll show you options to Reload in Internet Explorer modedepending on your recent Internet Explorer usage.<br><br>Allow<br><br>You'll be allowed to reload a page in Internet Explorer mode by selecting Settings and more > Reload in Internet Explorer mode. You can also select Reload tab in Internet Explorer modewhen you right-click on a tab, or choose Open link in new Internet Explorer mode tab when you right click on a link.<br><br>Don't allow<br><br>You won't have the option to Reload in Internet Explorer mode.

Does the document display properly here?

If the users who have to view these documents are on the same network, it's a simple matter to apply the necessary settings for them by Group Policy.

    Hi,

I have tried previously of loading the file in IE mode , it works perfectly as it was designed for IE browser , Since we are trying to display the file directly without use of IE Mode , So we are using the latest browsers available directly without the use of any additional modes inside it . So is there any suggestion or solution available for the above explained scenario to use browser without any mode to view the MHT file ?

    Hi Adibisoyi,

It sounds like you do need to use IE mode for this situation. Have you checked if the patient report software has a newer version that can display MHT files correctly without using IE mode or exporting to a different file type?

    Eric

Chromium's (and thus Edge's) support for the MHTML format is quite limited, and documents generated from 3rd party applications often have encoding behaviors that are not supported in Chromium's MHTML reader. Therefore, the Edge code scans the headers at the top of the document and will attempt to use IE Mode to render the file if it believes that Chromium itself didn't generate it.
