Edge Support for SharePoint?

After struggling with technical issues creating SharePoint sites and setting permissions using Edge, I switched to Chrome and voila, my tech problems went away. I am fairly new to 365/ SharePoint cloud environment and have my doubts over the reliability of the platform. These doubts have grown even more since Microsoft apparently cannot build a working, modern browser. If they can't do that, then just how reliable and robust can the SharePoint environment be?
