hi all,
we have a question to outlook gurus. Our Spamfilter add [EXTERN!] and we want to remove word if email would forwarded.

I see from time to time it work automatical without exchange transport rule or without outlook script. Why?

I compare properties from two mail. One (that works fine) with other that didnt work. I see less difference to the mail that work. Properties from the mail that works subject [EXTERN!] are removed if i forward it, has SPF Record.

Does anybody know why word [EXTERN!] removed and why not?

    Hi @Chris ,
    Welcome to our forum.

I see from time to time it work automatical without exchange transport rule or without outlook script

Does it mean that your subject would be changed when you forward the external message to other users? If so, did you forward it to a internal user or a external user?

As I know , we may not be able to change the subject automatically in Outlook when we forward it, in order to further confirm your issue, what's the mailbox server that you are using? And what's the datailed information about your Spamfilter policy?

Does anybody know why word [EXTERN!] removed and why not?

Based on my research, we could track the messages to check when was the subject changed in exchange server, which may help us further confirm this progress.

Also, if you are still researching for the methods to remove the word, I have found a related article, please kindly check if it could also be helpful to you.(Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Does it mean that your subject would be changed when you forward the external message to other users? If so, did you forward or answer it to a internal user or a external user?

yes. We have a SPAM (Cisco ESA) that give a subject stamp for all incoming (extern) E-Mails. If I press forward button in outlook without internal or external User Outlook will change subject. But not all Mails will remove extern.

I think it is an outlook feature and not Exchange. You know FW or AW Subject changes. Same if I work Offline with Outlook.

    JadeLiang,

thank you very much for your question. OWA did'nt change word EXTERN. But Outlook change mail from @harsh.com .com. I don't know why.

    I use Outlook 2013.

you said, Outlook 365 didn't change subject if you forward a message. All Client, IPHONE, IOS, Outlook, etc add FW: if I forward a message.

I will close the request now, thanks for your help

    Chris
