Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library Error

I have had my computer for several years and am low on hard drive space, however; I just received, for the first time, an error "Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library debug error". The file is a System32 file and in the explanation it indicates "Run-time check failure #2 - stack around the variable 'Cache Manager' was corupt".

I have read other posts and nothing quite fits what I'm dealing with. Does anyone know where this came from and how do I get it fixed?

Did you try calling the Windows Update support people? If not, why assume that what they will tell you is to restore. The solution is for you to make the telephone call and find out what they have to say. If you don't like the answer, then you can do as I suggested to "Casual User" and make your own new post and include all the details about YOUR system.

Since you don't have the same physical setup as the original poster - your hard drive is well maintained - then you would be better off just addressing your issue separately. Yes, the OP might have installed those two updates but without doing the maintenance suggested, there are too many other factors for her. This is not your case.

For you, I would suggest that you contact Microsoft product support. Issues that arise after installing updates are covered free.

Visit the Microsoft Virus Solution and Security Center for resources and tools to keep your PC safe and healthy.  If you are having issues with installing the update itself, visit Support for Microsoft Update for resources and tools to keep your PC updated with the latest updates.
