Any way to apply folder view settings specifically to subfolders?

I do NOT want my folder settings to be applied to all folders, just a particular one plus its sub folders.

Like for example I have a picture folder with a bunch of pictures as well as folders which also contains pictures. Now when it comes to pictures, I like them to be Large Icons with the sorting done as Date Modified - Ascending . Instead of having to do that manually for every single folder within that folder, can I just make changes in the main folder and apply it specifically to the subfolders ?

You can apply it to a single folder or as many as you want all at once.  Just "lasso select' (or ctrl-click or whatever you want to do to highlight the folders you wish to change), then go to properties.  You can change all the folders you want at the same time.

For example, let's say I want program files, users, and temp to all be considered picture folders, and use that template.  I can select them, go to properties, and change them all at once.

    Nothing is useless :)

Way to generalize, jerk. I have details, instructions, and even a darn video on you tube explaining how to do this. You're welcome.

I take pride in helping everyone make full use of their technology to achieve anything they desire, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to do so. Between just this and the TechNet site, over 7000 individual users have thanked me, personally saying thanks in a message. I include them in my resume and consider it an amazing achievement.

But your particular answer to this particular question was even more useless than he claimed. Since the questioner asked to apply it to ONLY one folder and not all. Now if MS had a system to define as many templates as you want, THEN it would be a nifty solution. Otherwise it's useless. I will affect 99 other folders and have to change those back to how I want now.

Sadly, the "visionary" guys from MS lack of the intelligence to check what other applications, or even their previous ones have, that are usefull, and either don't include them or remove them. Some times they change them to new options, which fail to replace the original.

A clear example was to be found in MS Messenger.

    ICQ had from the beggining:

    -send messages to offline users

-set status to offline or invisible and be able to chat with others

Messenger didn´t incorporate this until it's lasts moments. If MS was a car factory, they would launch a publicity campaign anouncing the new feature. "MS cars, no need for umbrella any more. Now you have a roof!!" while they'll be planning to add transparent panels in the front, but they are still working on it...

Pretty ironic to criticize another's intelligence when you clearly can't spell at all, wouldn't you say?  Guess what truly intelligent people ( who have excellent spelling skills, by the way, even if they're foreign … if you don't see why that's so, that fact alone should tell you something ) gauge your intelligence to be after that slaughter of the English language you put on display. You live in a glass house, buddy ;  I wouldn't be tossing bricks around if I were you.

If you use single click with "point to select" then the selection will always be indicated by a light blue color (that is what tells you if the file is selected).  You'll get a very faint pale blue when you hover, and it turns darker when the file is actually selected (selecting meaning it will open if you press Enter for example).
