Im running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit edition, Microsoft Security Essentials, and windows firewall. I keep getting the 80072EE2 error.
I have no idea what to do about this. Ive already tried all the methods in both:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-error-80072ee2
with the exception of the Method F and the Advanced methods: B/C.
Ive been trying to update since last night, so I dont think waiting anymore will help.
Ive also uninstalled and reinstalled my network adapter driver.
(Also tried the little "fixit" button on this thread: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/bfbdec70-e928-47ee-b073-665c4851bf4c)
Any help would be appreciated.
I had the same problem in my two computers and, as I know "the new" Microsoft, I made some calls (6 friends) and all of them had the same problem. But I tried the solve the problem with Microsoft Answer Desk and the girl had total access to my computer for
almost 4 hours. As always happen, she gave up and put my case on Support Level 2. Honestly, I've no hope that the problem will be solved by that support team. This is one more mess from Microsoft and nobody knows how to fix this.
My suggestion for you is: don't trust in work around! It works as an auto-medication. Ignore Windows Update! Your computer will not be more protected with these updates. Uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials because it doesn't work as expected. Install
another antivirus like HITMAN PRO 3, for example. Stop using Internet Explorer as your browser. Use Google Chrome instead... much better. Finally, wait for Windows 10 and pray, pray and pray!
