the local drive on my computer? no, i couldn't
and i couldn't run checkdisk on my external on my own computer...but on my mum's computer i was able to...
so ya, you think it's corrupted?
Well if you checkdisked the external on you mother's computer that drive might be ok. Can you run
checkdisk on your local drive?

but like i said, since i couldn't disk check my external HD on my computer but my mother's do you think i should just reinstall it?
When you start CheckDisk in Windows it runs during the next boot for the drive that Windows is
installed on. There is a setting that is incorrect on you computer which prevents checkdisk from
running. Use that guide to set the settings correctly 1 step at a time as I think your confusion is
in trying to pick and choose rather than just following it.
How to Fix Chkdsk will Not Run at Startup in Vista

Step 5 in that is just running checkdisk as you have been doing.
The guide tells you how to use set Safe Boot so checkdisk might run.
