I am having probles installing upgrades. I get a message that Windows has encountered an unknown error and to try again later. I have tried quite a few times over a week but still cannot instal upgrades

You’ve to open PowerPoint program first. Once you’ve the PowerPoint open, follow the instructions suggested above to repair the PowerPoint 2007. You’ll be able to find the PowerPoint Options.

If you still have issues even after following the instructions, then I would suggest you to try the steps mentioned below.
Repair PowerPoint 2007 on your computer and then try to update
The Detect and Repair feature that was included together with Microsoft Office 2003 has been replaced in the 2007 Microsoft Office system with Microsoft Office Diagnostics. This new tool provides more comprehensive testing and repair capabilities. To repair PowerPoint 2007, follow these steps:
a. Click theMicrosoft Office Button, and then click PowerPoint Options.
b. ClickResources.
c. ClickDiagnose, click Continue, and then clickStart Diagnostics.
Now try installing the update and then check if you’re able to install the update.

Have tried your suggestions above. I have clicked the Microsoft Office button and then clicked PowerPoint, but unfortunately Power Point just opens up. Cannot find PowerPoint "options" to follow steps b and c. I need further assistance please.
