Why cannot I access the 'www.windowslivehelp.com' forums?

I sent an "abuse" message to '******@hotmail.com', and the "boiler-plate" reply directed me to the 'www.windowslivehelp.com' web-site.

However, although my computer can find an IP-address for that web-site, viz:

Name:    windowslivehelp.com

Address:  65.54.160.60

Aliases:  www.windowslivehelp.com

all my attempts to access that web-site (using Internet Explorer) only produce an error-message.

I've tried this on several computers, always with the same "null" result.

    Hi Melvin,

    1. Have you tried different browser?
    2. Which version of Internet Explorer do you use?
    3. What is the exact/complete error message?
    4. Do you have any issues with Windows Live?

It seems that the website is no longer available

If you have any issues with windows live, refer to the article and choose the appropriate issue.

To get help, first select the service below that has an issue.

    > 1. Have you tried different browser?

Are you saying that Microsoft's "Internet Explorer" is an inferior web-browser?

If Microsoft's _own_ 'windowslivehelp.com' web-site cannot be accessed with Microsoft's "flagship" web-browser, then it's time to buy a computer from Google, and use Google's web-browser.

    > 2. Which version of Internet Explorer do you use?

I tried IE8, IE9, and IE10.  None of them worked.

I tried Windows XP, and Windows Vista, and Windows 7.  No change.

    > 3. What is the exact/complete error message?

None.  The HTTP-server just "closes" the TCP/IP connection before accepting any HTTP request.

    Open a command-line prompt, and enter 'telnet windowslivehelp.com 80',

and you'll see that the connection opens, and then closes, before accepting any input (well-formed HTTP request or any "random" typed-in characters).

    > 4. Do you have any issues with Windows Live?

No, mainly because I don't use it at all.

To repeat, I received a "boiler-plate' response to my E-mail to the 'abuse' ID at 'live.com', telling me to look at 'windowslivehelp.com' for assistance.

    > It seems that the website is no longer available

You seem to have a firm grasp of the obvious.

    > Please also refer to article below and check if it helps

It did not, except to confirm that I'm not the only one experiencing the identical problem.

OK.  I've now tried the newly-released IE11 under Windows 7, and I still cannot access any content from the 'www.windowslivehelp.com' web-site.

Anybody else seeing the same problem?

Apparently there is an issue with this website. Since you have tried it from more than one machine you can pretty safely assume that it isn't you, but the site itself.

    Hope this helps.
