Remote desktop connection doesn't display

Hi All,

My remote desktop connection to my work computer no longer works correctly on my PC . I get asked my user credentials, which I've tested if I enter in the wrong password doesn't work....

When I do enter it correctly, it tries to connect, and I get the this screen, and then NOTHING....

If i try to connect again, i get a "This computer can't connect to the remove computer." error as seen below.

I know my work computer is setup correctly as I can connect on my wife's windows 8 laptop.

So I have a feeling its something to do with my display driver, but I have ensured I've got the latest version of that.

I've followed Why can’t I connect using Remote Desktop Connection? and found my firewall didn't have remote desktop connection allowed, which I've enabled, rebooted and still not working.

Can anyone suggest anything that may help.

Thanks.

Lance.

    Hi Ramesh,

Those links you provided are the basic sort of options.

As I said, it used to work, and now it doesn't.

I have had a suggestion to from a college to try and remote to my sons machine, so I will try that and see if the issue is with my remote desktop in general.

Is it possible to re-install remote desktop in case its been currupted?

    Lance.

    Hi Ramesh

I've been able to connect to my sons computer after running the update to allow windows 7 home premium machines to allow remote desktop.

So I can then remote to my work computer from there.

But still doesn't explain why I can't remote to my work computer.....
