I have this problem for I think 4 days now and I have tried all the solution that I searched on the web I even went to Microsoft Answer Desk to have it fixed,

On my first day of inquiring about this problem to Microsoft Answer Desk they have my computer be remotely controlled to try and fix it. This didn't work so they scheduled me a call from a tier 2 support for the next day around 9-11am,

The next day, I was waiting for the call from 8-11am and decided to visit the Answer Desk to ask what happened and they said it was escalated but didn't say why didn't they call and said that I can expect a call after an hour. So I waited.

There was no call after an hour so I went to the Answer Desk again to ask what happened, they said that my issue was not escalated properly so they have to reschedule it for the next day at the same time. Since I really want this fixed I agreed.

In the afternoon I decided to go to Microsoft Surface Support to inquire about the same problem maybe they have a diff. solution. But they said it is a Windows problem so they can't do anything with it even if this is a surface product.

The only Thing in my mind for a solution is to reset my surface pro back to windows 8, maybe that would fix it. So I did. and it didn't fix it at all it made my problem worst since I am stuck at 8 because I can't update my windows.

The next day I am waiting again for a call promised to me, and still there's no call from anyone at the Microsoft Answer Desk not even an email update. just a confirmation about the scheduled call.

so I decided to talk to the desk again and they don't really say what's wrong with their T2 not calling in the specified scheduled time. and they said that I can wait for 4hrs to have a call from their T2 support and they are sure that they would call.

So I waited and wow they called 30 minutes earlier that the schedule.

He remotely controlled my pc and saw the problem. what he did is, he downloaded the win8.1 installer and said after the download is done I can Install win 8.1 and have no problems anymore.

So I did that and wow I'm back to my win8.1 so happy about it until I checked the Windows Update. it still has the same problem. I don't know now what to do with this I don't want to go to the answer desk again because they are stressful to ask a question with.

Now. I'm back to my original problem the error code 8024402C and another problem from installing .NET framework 3.5, It gives me error  0x800F0906

Please can someone help me with these problems.

Hi,

Does your internet connection work for everything else ?

Do you get the red Try Again button also...

I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago and nothing worked to fix it.

This was happening on multiple machines... 2-3 days later it started working perfectly on it's own...

Microsoft seems to be having off and on problems with it's update servers... at least in my case anyway...

The one I get connected to has been working properly ever since, but I have been seeing quite a few posts concerning this.

I don't have a clue as to how many different servers Microsoft has around the world...

Yeah, I think I'll just leave it like this. I somehow successfully installed the pack that I downloaded but when it asked me to restart it didn't show me the usual restart thing happening whenever we Update our pc. It didn't show any loading screen for configuration or such. it just restarted like normal.

I don't know what else you can do, especially if support can't fix it.

I tried the fix suggestion for Net framework and it gave me this message

and about your suggestions in fixing the windows update error, the agents from support have tried all that and more by controlling my pc remotely and still it didn't do anything.

what I'm planning to do now is to download the surface pro firmware and drivers pack January 2015 from this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38826 and install it manually.

do you think this will help? I really don't know what else to do with this error. my internet is fine, I just updated windows defender, fully scanned the pc, installed avast.
