High Resource usage when using browser

What might svchost.exe with a PID code of 376 indicate? I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on a laptop with an i5 processor and 6 gigabytes of ram.  I begin to notice this, usually when in either IE 11 or Firefox, and I hear the CPU cooling fan come on.  Accessing task manager and selecting all processes I observe the svchost.exe process, with the PID code of 376, using from 25 to 40% of the CPU.  I have run the Microsoft Malware removal too and, MalwareBytes which are not finding any malware.  Microsoft Security Essentials is always running whenever this computer is powered up. I'd appreciate any help sorting this out that is available.

It now seems that after several minutes in IE11 the cooling fan again comes on and upon checking task manager I find that iexplore.exe*32 with a PID code of 3284 consuming about 40% of the CPU resources.  When using Firefox rather than IE11 I notice similar symptoms and a check with task manager reveals firefox.exe*32 (Idid not get the PID) using a similar amount of CPU resources with the cooling fan operating.  Unfortunately the symptoms do not reliably occur each time I use a browser. So I'm still at a loss.
