seriously people, I don't think you're listening to his/her problem...this code seems to be a permanent PIN of some sorts that Microsoft is requiring. not a temporary # sent via text or email. I have experienced the same problem. I've been asked for a 6 digit PIN that I've never set. When and how is this code ever set by the individual account holder?
