Hi,

I cannot change the brightness setting on my laptop (using Windows 10). The change brightness slider is active but nothing changes. The screen brightness remains the same if I set the brightness to 2% or to 100%.

Not sure if this is related to Windows update but, after the las update (on ‎18.‎05.‎2018), because the screen was too dark, I tried to change the brightness and found out that the I can't do it.

I totally agree. Since updates are mandatory I wasted many days trying to solve problems after Windows updates.

Now I get scared when I see the Windows update message.

The system is very old and only drivers available are for Windows 7.

You should download graphics driver from below HP location and install the driver in compatibility mode

Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver with Turbo Boost Technology (8.15.10.2559 though you have 2900 which is higher version) - https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59501-60000/sp...

Right click on the setup file > Properties > Compatibility tab > Check the box - Run this program in compatibility mode > Select the right operating system > OK and install

What would be the right operating system to select under "Run this program in compatibility mode"? Windows 10 is not in the list. The last version is Windows 8.
