Teams crashing when sharing screen

I am having issues when using Teams on my computer. Teams works fine until I attempt to share my screen. This happens when I share a single application and when I share the entire screen.I have tried deleting Teams, clearing all apo cache and re-installing but this does not help. I've tried sharing with different people with and without audio. All of my drivers are up to date. I don't have this issue with any other application and no one else in my organization is having this problem. This has been going on for a couple months now and I've been forced to use the browser application on this computer. All of my other computers are working fine with no issues. Anyone have any suggestions?

I also got the issue, it started on my new lonovo T14 and the funny thing is when i am kicked of, i am not really kicked off.
When i try to join the meeting again i get the message, "you are already in this meeting, do you want to transfer the meeting to this device"
So it seems like the application dont know i am "kicked off"

When I look in the log it is filled up with error messages all about like this :

Always having this problem, everyone in the team is facing this issue. At first we thought it was office network issue, then tried personal network still the issue persists.

There are are multiple users within the organization using different laptops who complained of this issue. Its really embarrassing during a Sr Management Presentation, client or external presentations or any basic one to one.

Have tried changing the GPU, restarting the pc, reinstalling teams, deleting the cache, everything. but stil, having the same issue. Kindly provide a solution.

Ditto. I've done the same and followed the same procedure of uninstalling, clearing cache, re-installing it. It never works. MS, fix this issue. THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT TO MOST MS USERS THAN FANCY WINDOWS 11 WITH NEW FEATURES THAT MOST PEOPLE DO NOT USE!!!

After activating the teams logging I maybe got something about the crash.

When I was kicked out I got an Teams application error (Instruction 0x00007FFBC2926D6E the memory could not be read)
and a lot of information in the teams log (that I dont have any idea of the meaning of)

Anyone who know if that log information is interesting for someone ? if yes who and how to pass it on.

I also got this issue. Everytime I share full screen it crashes.
I use a Lenovo M72 Desktop PC with two dell monitors attached.

All users are still in the conference when the session crashes.

Same here, started crashing this week, it used to work just fine.
Did a clean install, deleted the cache folders and it still is happening.

Worked for me. My issue was always when sharing an individual window and occasionally when sharing my entire screen.

I am also experiencing this issue with the Teams desktop application. A reinstallation of teams and update of drivers did not resolve it. Similar to others, sharing with a single participant works, but Teams crashes when sharing a screen with multiple participants.

I think i may have an answer that will help some,
In my setup i have two monitors and it seems like Teams only crash if i share my secondary monitor, if if i share my primary monitor it works fine (at least until now)

Hope this can help some with the same setup.

Does the file in question contain letters and symbols? I've recently discovered that a file that has a "#" in its name will not share, where others without that symbol do

Same issue since I have a new laptop.

Cause was the HDR setting of my display!
Look for 'display settings' in the Windows 11 search, open it and disable the HDR option before you start presenting in Teams.

It sucks, because HDR makes a noticable difference to the picture quality, but it solved my crashes.

I've been informed via Microsoft that Microsoft and Lenovo are working on a fix to resolve this issue. The bug is on the Lenovo side. Keep checking for Lenovo system updates. I have not been informed of an ETA, but I hope within say the next month or so we shall see this issue disappear. Fingers crossed! (I don't work for Microsoft, I don't work for Lenovo)

Are there any error messages when Team client crash?

Have you tried to change another device to see if it works?

To eliminate whether the issue is caused by software conflicts, please try to perform a clean boot in the affected computer to check if it works. Also, make sure you have stable internet connection in your environment.

Besides, please check your client log to see if there is any error logs in your Teams client by following these steps:

1.Right Click on the Microsoft Teams icon in your system tray.
2.Select Get Logs.

As far as I can tell, there are no errors during the crash. Teams only gives me a message that there was a glitch and everything was working now. I enabled the logs previously and as far as I could tell, the logs didn't have any error information. To me, the logs looked as if I just simple restarted Teams with no errors.

I don't have any issues on any other devices and I have tried several.

I have not tried a clean boot. I will do that as soon as I get a chance and report back.

I can enable logging again and share them in this post.

Hello, I was able to make progress on this issue. I removed all applications from startup as suggested and found that Teams was working fine after a clean boot. After that, I spent some time restarting each application and testing Teams.

After several tests I found that the issue was being caused by a GPU overclock that I had been using (MSI Afterburner). Teams only crashes when I have this application open. If I opened that application at all, Teams would no longer work as expected. Even closing it did not resolve the issue. For Teams to work, I could not open MSI Afterburner at all once I was in Windows. As of this moment, everything is working.

Hello. I have the same problem. Teams has crashed from time to time, but now it crashes every time I try to share my screen.

I cleared the cache. I don't know how to read the "get logs" notepad...

I have rebooted. I am at a loss.

II am not 100% sure yet but i
1- uninstalled Teams
2 - restarted
3- updated bios (on Lenovo T14 )
4 - restarted
5 - installed teams
6 tried sharing and did not experience any issues or error messages in the log.

Time will tell if that solved my problem

This seems to have worked for me. Been having the problem since I got a new laptop. Tested by sharing screen with HDR off and as soon as I switched it on, Teams dropped. Thank you for working this out. It was driving me nuts!

bluetooth is, unfortunately, not the right solution... disabling them doesn't help to solve that problem... :-(

After changing to new laptop (same model) the problem is gone, i am rather sure that it isnt teams but some kind of hardware issue

Hi, I use two laptops and Teams closes automatically only when I share my screen on one of the laptops, while the other is fine. Unfortunately, my work computer crashes and I can not use my personal one for everything I need.

I have the same issue - Teams works fine then grinds to a halt / crashes entirely as soon as I share a screen. Crashes happen frequently when the Teams call has a lot of attendees, smaller meetings result in a massive slow down only. It's an embarrassment in meetings when I have to reboot my PC to reconnect to the call and the reason for screen sharing has often passed by the time I reconnect.
