77957-full-page-photo.pdf

See attached for an example - Photo printed to PDF.
The environment is a Windows Server 2012 r2 Terminal server farm

What happens:

  1. User opens an image file in Windows Photo Viewer
  2. They click on Print
  3. They set print settings (A4/Full page/etc)
  4. Click print
  5. Printed image comes out missing the middle section of the image

Things to note regarding the issue:

  • Issue happens regardless of print settings like page size, layout and fit
  • Issue affects PDF printing as well as regular printing, and happens on all printers regardless of make/model
  • This is affecting all users on the terminal server farm
  • Printing images from other apps like MSPaint works fine, it is just Windows Photo Viewer
  • The issue started a week ago, before that it was working fine
  • This is affecting all image formats as well, including .tif, .jpg, .png, etc

We have checked all of the settings and in Windows Photo Viewer and cannot see anything that could be causing this.
Any assistance would be much appreciated

    Hello @AngryViking32

    Thank you for very cleared description of the issue.

    I would suggest the following troubleshooting steps:

    1.Run printer troubleshooter;
    2.Run System File Checker: SFC /scannow;
    3. Check with event logs with applications for errors;
    4.re-intall photo viewer

    Best Regards
    Karlie

    I had a support chat with Microsoft and after a long wait they said I needed to repair the whole OS. That's a significant piece of work. I installed the latest feature updates for OS20H2 and that released several patches (quality updates)which I installed. I got a partial solution from that in that the print error now only seems to happen on full page prints. If I print 1/2 page etc the problem isn't there now. I am not going to rebuild/recover the whole OS as I can print photos without issue through many other apps.

    Perfect! I un-installed patch KB5000802, and it solved my printing problem. No more missing parts!
