How can I view USB device bandwidth allocation in Windows 10

In windows 7 it was possible to view the bandwidth allocation (and power allocation) of every USB device. It was done by going to the Device Manager, selecting the USB controller(s), right clicking on the Root Hub or other controller, and selecting the Advanced tab. That tab has disappeared in Windows 10. This information surely exists somewhere in Windows 10. How does one access it?

    Hi, FrJosephFessiosJ,

I am an Independent Advisor and will assist you.

Windows 10 requires the use of a third-party viewer. Recommended is USBDeview from Nirsoft.

Thanks,Smittychat. I had checked that site out, but it seems like that viewer only monitors USB device traffic while the devices are in use. I want to look at what the bandwidth allocations are independent of use (which I imagine would be default bandwidth allocations. . Here's the problem I'm trying to solve: I'm using streaming software, Wirecast 12.0. When you load it, it checks for bandwidth availability of all the capture devices (e.g. video cameras) which will or can be accessed by the 'document' or session. I've got 2 logitech 930e web cams attached to my laptop. They will both work simultaneously there. And when I open a new Wirecast document and add them, they will both work there also. But when I save the document, exit, than later reload it, I get the dreaded error message 'No available USB bandwidth' and a list of all the USB active devices on my laptop. So I'm trying to find out from Wirecast just what it's looking for that triggers that message, and I'm trying to find out from Microsoft how I can see where Windows 10 has the information Wirecast is looking for.

I've located two articles on Bandwidth

    1. USB_Bandwidth_Info_ Structure

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deskto...

    1. IOCWTL_USB_USER_REQUEST_IOCTL

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deskto...

    1. Data Transfer for large Datasets with Low or No Network Bandwidth.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/...

    1. Another Utility that may be useful. Free USB Analyzer

Thanks. I've checked all those articles. The first three don't help me because I'm user, not a programmer. They do confirm that the information I want is available. Looks like there is no easy way for me as a user to get it.

I had already checked on the USB Analyzer linked to in the fourth item. I even downloaded it. But as far as I can tell it only analyzes traffic. It does not tell me the the bandwidth allocations are.

But I'm getting closer. Maybe someone can tell me how I can use the info in the first three items without learning a programming language.

I do much appreciate the prompt helpfulness.
