Camera not working

Hi my build in camera on my HP laptop is not working after an update.  I'm using windows 10 and the laptop is only a year old.  I've tried to update the drivers and they were updated, changed the security settings on the computer and my web browser for the camera.  The camera and the apps used (skype, zoom) does not work and keeps flickering on and off.  See screenshot below .  And if I go on the camera too much it shuts down my computer. (see screenshot)

Please could you advise what the issue could be as this is very frustrating when I'm in meetings.

Roz

    Hello RozelleBowerman,

I couldn't find the laptop model unfortunately, but the issue is driver related for sure.

You can go to Hp website under this link, and click on detect your product

    https://support.hp.com/lv-en/drivers/laptops

after detecting, you can search and reinstall the webcam driver, The Hardware ID points to Realtek webcam chip, and your current driver is a 2006 driver. therefore the update to the latest driver should resolve your problem.

Please let me know how it goes

    Farah

    Hi Farah

I've already downloaded the latest drivers but have gone through this process again and re-installed the above drivers (see screenshots)  my camera is still not working.  I'm not sure if its picking up the correct camera and driver.  I have 2 listed in my device manager. Could this be the issue?

    Hey Rozelle,

please delete the device hp wide vision fhd camera from device manager, and restart your computer.

check after restart if the device comes up again.

ps. is there any button on your screen that turns the camera on and off?

    Cheers

    Farah
