Camera not working

Hi my build in camera on my HP laptop is not working after an update.  I'm using windows 10 and the laptop is only a year old.  I've tried to update the drivers and they were updated, changed the security settings on the computer and my web browser for the camera.  The camera and the apps used (skype, zoom) does not work and keeps flickering on and off.  See screenshot below .  And if I go on the camera too much it shuts down my computer. (see screenshot)

Please could you advise what the issue could be as this is very frustrating when I'm in meetings.

    Hi Sarah

I'll try that in a min. I don't know if there is a button to turn camera on or off.  I usually just use the camera app.  I also tried testing the camera on this app https://www.onlinemictest.com/  which did not work either.

I'll let you know if it resolves my issues.

    Hi Sarah

I tried to follow the above steps and delete the hp wide vision fhd camera from device manager and the device comes up again.  Ive done this twice. See screenshot.

    Hey Rozelle,

I see that the new Driver was applied, as it shows Realtek instead of Microsoft under Driver section.

If it didn't work until now, Go to control panel, and search for Camera.

You'll get a link that says Camera Privacy settings.

Check there if it says, Camera access is on or off. as in the screenshot.

Hey Rozelle, I can't think of another software issue that might produce this behavior.

My guess is, you should check the hardware or see HP support in this regard.
