Account isn't showing up when using the net user command

So I'm using the account I want to see info about with command prompt, and it has elevated privileges as well, but when I type in the account name, nothing shows up. So basically it's like this...

C:\WINDOWS\John>net user John

It says that this user name cannot be found. Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

Have you gone Settings, Account, My info?

Also have you gone Settings, System, About?

Yes I have, but the main thing I want to do is assign hour limits, and I'm pretty sure you can only do that through command prompt

    Hi Ruizun,

I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 2-Year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

Is it a Microsoft Account or a local account labeled John?

Have you confirmed if the name is the same in the user folder?

Also, the command should be like this(there cannot be \Windows\John)

    C:\Windows\system32>

I don't know if you mistakenly typed for illustration.

Yes, I typed it that way as an illustration. The account is a domain account, which I probably should’ve specified in the beginning. Yes, I’ve checked the user folder to verify the name, and it checks out. I tried using net user for multiple different accounts and nothing showed up, at least when it came to the domain accounts.
