Hi,

Is there a command to issue in command prompt that opens msconfig or is there a command that changes msconfig start up to "selective" or "normal"?

My laptop is win 10 ver 1909.

It's stopped booting into windows after I changed the start up in msconfig from "selective" to "normal".

I'm having to use command prompt from the win 10 recovery usb.

    Hi,

Have you attempted the new steps I mentioned ?

It is not possible to change the settings in msconfig through the command prompt..

Only turn Safe Mode off or on with various options...

I searched for days trying to help someone else with this issue with no luck..

The problem is that msconfig is not available through the command prompt.. The msconfig.exe does not exist in in Windows 10 Recovery Enviornment..

Your only hope other than reinstalling Windows is to turn on Safe Mode and hope it will boot.. Then you would be able to access msconfig to change your setting back to "Selective" or "Normal"..

Hi my name is Ross, I'm an independent advisor. I'd be happy to help with your issue.

Can I check how you are accessing the recovery menu first of all, did you press F8 at startup or are you now using the USB to boot?

    Regards,

    Ross

The only way I could access was from a win 10 recovery media usb.

I've managed to fix the issue now by rebuilding my BOOT BCD File via command prompt.
