Can't sign in to my local account using a Remote Desktop Gateway

I recently setup a Remote Desktop Gateway in the hopes of using it to connect to my home PC remotely. My issue is that I am not able to log into my local account through the gateway. I have also setup DUO 2FA as a secondary security measure.

I have the RDG and ADDS running on a single VM with its own dedicated NIC. I have added my home PC to the domain and setup a domain admin account that can access both the VM remotely through the gateway and my PC through the gateway using the domain account. I am, however, able to remote into my PC without using the gateway inside of my home network.

Am I missing a setting or checkbox on the RDG that would allow me to connect using my local account or is it not possible through the RDG?

Note: I've tried tagging this the best I could but I keep getting tags for Azure.
