Microsoft Office 2016 Email searching issue while using two Microsoft exchange mailbox

Hello Team,

We are using Microsoft Exchange Server 2016.We are facing searching issue.

I have configured cache mode 2 different active sync exchange account in outlook 2016.

1) abc@contoso.com and 2) xyz@ontoso.com

While we search email in outlook after only reflecting abc@contoso.com email only. even we select xyz@contoso.com and try to search email in outlook then after search the email and result show only primary mailbox abc@contoso.com.

If we remove cache mode and make online only secondary mailbox xyz@contoso.com after searching works. i tried to create new indexing file but still have no luck. moreover i go to .ost path and add the ost file in indexing but stil no luck now.

If we configured both mailboxes in outlook 2010 after it's work.

anyone have any idea about this issue.

Thank you.

Hi @JeminPrajapati-1970,

From your description, do you mean you would like the search results from both accounts to be returned when searching email in outlook? If this is the case, you could go to File > Options > Search, under “Include results only from”, choose "All mailboxes":

Feel free to let me know if I have misunderstood anything or if there's any further questions or concerns on this.

Hello YukiSun-MSFT,

Thank you for sharing the information here.

I need to search results for each mailbox separately. if I search abc@contoso.com mailbox it should be search result email inside abc@constoso.com and if I select xyz mailbox the search result should be shown only xys@contoso.com.

As you suggest we select an option all mailbox after search results show all mailbox combine result. I need to search n separate results on each mailbox.

Can you please help with this?

Thank you.

Hi @JeminPrajapati-1970,

Thanks for the clarification. So If the search scope is set to "Current Folder" and you select the Inbox folder of xys@contoso.com, are you able to see the correct search results from the right folder?

Besides, could you help collect the version information of both the Exchange server and the Outlook client?

For Exchange server, you can run the following command to view the build number:
Get-ExchangeServer | Format-List Name,Edition,AdminDisplayVersion

To see the version info of the Outlook client, please go to File > Options > Office Account > About Outlook.
